Snowflakes

It was a white, cold day out.
As I stood outside in my backyard,
A tiny white fleck softly caressed the tip of my nose
There had been a blizzard for three days straight.

It cleared up finally,
Seemed like an eager month's wait
The days got colder and colder,
And the nights, freezing.

The sun was rising now,
As if to greet me
There was a faint smell of hot chocolate somewhere
And the familiar voices which revelled in the background

Slowly voices became louder
And people came out of their houses
As if they came out of hiding,
After a long hibernation

The dew drops on trees
Looked like glistening diamonds, frozen.
A snowflake landed straight into my palm
Which seemed fascinating enough

Then, a hard, cold piece of snow flew right across my face
With sounds of laughter,
And seemed to bring me back to my senses.
The vast expanse of white was very inviting.

By evening, an army of snowmen was formed
And another of angels
It was the best winter ever,
And yet, it had only begun!!!

So much does weather bring out in a person! I miss NYC so much... the whether, the snow the rain and the sunshine.

SFO is so so depressing... its like a cloak of perennial gloom over the city.

Nice poem! Keep Writing!
