A Silent Witness

There you are, so calm and serene,
A witness to all our actions and faults
A silent spectator
Sometimes so full of life
Sometimes, disappearing

Then again you shine
With all your might
So bright
So peaceful.

Like a beacon of light for all of us
Who seem to be lost,
Telling us, reminding us
Of the great power who created us all.

And then again disappearing
For a fortnight,
Behind that great sky wall.
